Brume development continues on SVN

Postby Silmaryls on Thu Jan 10, 2008 7:57 pm

Just to repeat the most important news of this new year :

Brume is now developed using the SVN repository. This repository is not stable for the moment !

Brume 1.6 -> CVS (trunk is almost up to date and there are tags for all releases including 1.6)
future Brume 1.7 -> SVN

The SVN trunk is actually totally broken due to the integration of new features. So be really careful if you plan to get the source code and work on it.
The SVN repository will be stabilized after next release.

Do you have a timeline for when the next version will be out? I just recently started playing with Brume (nice work btw) and was hoping to use a newer version of ODE than 0.8. I pulled down the SVN and was happy to see that you're still developing it, but the physics don't appear to be ready yet.

Thanks!

Hi,

Well the next release was first planned for August but as you can see it's delayed :D
I was a lot busy these days and I still have a lot of things to integrate for Brume v2 (especially DirectX 10 geometry shader support). So for the moment I have no official release date.

But you can also notice that I recently migrated to the official ODE .NET Wrapper (I had lots of problems with th old wrapper in multi-core environments). Actually it's working well with ODE 0.8.
I tried to use ode 0.9 with it but I encountered stability problems with it. I will try next release when possible.
You should update you SVN release and try again (uncommenting the physics tests in the game.cs file).
