Error in sound engine

Postby Bartman on Mon Mar 03, 2008 11:52 pm

Hi

On one of our user's PC we got the following error when playing an MP3 file from our game:

Brume error : Error in the application.
-2147024882 (E_OUTOFMEMORY)
at Microsoft.DirectX.AudioVideoPlayback.Audio.Open(String fileName, Boolean autoRun)
at Microsoft.DirectX.AudioVideoPlayback.Audio..ctor(String fileName, Boolean autoRun)
at Brume.BrumeSound.LoadMusic(String musicname, String filename, Boolean autorun, BrumeSoundParams playType)

When trying to play the MP3 in Media pLayer all works fine...

Any clue?

Thanks a lot

Brume plays only wave files.

Hi Gero

Well, Brume plays .mp3 perfectly using BrumeSound.LoadMusic() and BrumeSound.PlayMusic()!
My issue is probably related to a mess of CODEC's on the target machine... a pain to solve.

Yes I confirm. Brume plays mp3 files : just check the Ice Cube sample.

Maybe comparing Ice Cube mp3 encodings with yours may give you a clue (I use gspot for that).
Here are my results on '1.mp3' : MPEG-1 Layer 3 44100Hz 192 kb/s tot , Joint Stereo
